After many visits and much admiration, Claire Berezowitz finally made the move to Alaska – and she’s thrill-ed to join the AYEA team! The past few years Claire been working for Harvard’s Office for Sustainability, working with students, staff, and faculty in order to ‘green the campus!’ Before that, she studied at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education and worked as an outdoor and environmental science teacher with youth of all ages.
Claire was born and raised a ‘cheesehead,’ and developed her affinity for nature and all living things while paddling the lakes and streams and hiking through the fields and forests of northern Wisconsin. She has many passions related to the environment, though Claire’s most passionate about sustainable food systems – especially making connections between environmental conservation issues and how they impact both human and environmental health.
